In other words, all .MOBI websites have to be designed to be viewed flawlessly by mobile devices in agreement with the so-called “MWI Best Practices for mobile content” created by the W3C Mobile Web Initiative (MWI) in partnership with the dot MOBI Registry organization. These involve how a website is being navigated, the way it is being displayed (form and size), and so on.

The requirements have raised some concerns because the universal domain is the only one that specifies what devices should be able to open a website and the way in which this has to happen, breaking the so-called principles of device independence, according to which a website should be created in such a way as to be viewed by the majority of web browser applications and devices, be they mobile or stationary.
